Our Firsts

Over the last month, a lot of firsts happened for our family.

Lemme just start off by saying that we were finally able to go back to Vegas for a little visit! I can't believe it has been 7 1/2 months since we've moved. For me, the time flew by sooo fast because I've been busy with keeping up with the little ones and school. It felt GREAT being back. It was still a little cold but warmer than Missouri, that's for sure.

So, the FIRST first was me having to say goodbye to Zeus, Waylon, and Aliah because they flew to Vegas a couple days before I did with Worthy and West. It was always me who flew with one of the kids AND I have never, before now, been away from Aliah (except for sleepovers at gramma's). No, I didn't cry but it was prolly because I knew I'd see them only a couple days after. I stayed back with Worthy so we could finish out our school week, knowing Worthy would be missing all of the next week.

It felt soooo weird, having only two kids at home!! I'm not sure if it was because Worthy is old enough to do things for himself and West sleeps most of the day, but it was as if it was TOO easy just having two babies. The only thing I hated, besides not having my family together, was having to ask Dad or Nephi to sit with the two boys while I went to school in the morning. I just HATED asking and depending on anyone else besides Zeus, EVEN THO they were still sleeping when I got back home.

Anyway, the day I flew into Vegas, I felt like I was at home. I still consider MO home, and always will, but I think I feel at home in Vegas because it's where I settled down and started my family. I've had a lot of firsts there that makes it a special place for me. I flew in early morning Friday and was ready to get my eat on! Zeus and I had a list of places we wanted to eat since we don't have a lot here in Missouri. lol. #Fat So...first thing I wanted was to try out this place I've seen on the Food Channel called Serendipity. They're known for its desserts, specifically their Frozen Hot Chocolate, which is what I wanted to try. This was our SECOND first. It was good, but not as good as what Zeus ordered, Deep Fried Oreos! O.M.G. after that night, I craved those oreos everyday til I left! LOL.

Our THIRD first, was Worthy losing his first tooth! I actually didn't even know how loose it was until the night it fell out and I saw the new tooth growing in already. As a matter of fact, he lost his SECOND tooth a couple days after. I was soo excited for him. We LOVE the movie Rise of the Guardians and he kept talking about putting his tooth under the pillow for the tooth fairy. And she DID visit! lol. Now Worthy is missing his two bottom teeth and it's soo cute!!

I took all my school books with me hoping I'd get some work done while I was vacationing, and surprisingly, I did. Zeus was sooo good at letting me leave him with all the kids so I could do my homework. But easy for him because it's not like he didn't have any help. ha! I'm not sure why, but while I was in Vegas, I was tired all the time! So I appreciate Zeus for also letting me SLEEEEEP!!

I was only supposed to be in Vegas from Friday to Monday...4 days. But while we were gone, a big storm passed through the midwest and caused a bunch of flights to be cancelled. School was also cancelled for a whole week which was good for Worthy because that meant he wasn't going to miss as much school as we thought. I ended up leaving the following Friday and enjoyed a whole week sleeping, eating, sleeping, and eating some more. I flew back with Aliah and West, which made the flight home very interesting. :/

Zeus ended up staying two weeks. I know he missed his family and I also know he wasn't in ANY rush to get back to Missouri. lol. But now we're back and a few days ago, had our FOURTH first...cutting West's hair! He was born with a lot of hair to begin with and it was getting sooo long. He kept scratching his neck and ears and I felt bad for him so we cut it. He looks older now! :)

So far this year I'm feeling extremely blessed. Although some things aren't working out as we hoped, I'm not stressing out about it because I know at the end of the day, everything will be as it should whether we wanted it that way or not. Sometimes we just gotta leave it up to our Heavenly Father and trust that he'll work his magic in a way that benefits us the most. So even tho we're missing out on some good eats living here, like, say, L&L, In N Out, Cafe Rio, and Raising Cane's, we know that when we finally do get the chance to go back, it'll be that much sweeter! lol.
