Happy Thanksgiving!!

For the special occasion, I thought I'd write about one thing I am especially grateful for besides the basics (the gospel, family, necessities, etc.).

MEDICAL CARE.

I figured by saying Medical care it includes everything it has to do with. The doctors, nurses, medicine. I'm sure it's a little obvious why I feel particularly grateful for medical care (good medical care). Without it, I don't think Worthy would be with us today.
Sometimes I think about what I would do if there were ever a shortage on insulin. And quite honestly, I don't have a clue!! Of course it will most likely never happen, but it's something I've thought about because Worthy's life depends on it. Literally. I mean, can YOU imagine having a child whose life depends on something that's out of your hands?? Other than his insulin needing to be refilled, I always have to have blood sugar strips and lancets on hand. And none of those are free. So I am also sooooooo grateful for America and its Medicaid program!! After being discharged from the hospital, we picked up Worthy's prescriptions and it all came out to almost $1000. And that supply will only last us no more than 5 months if we're really good at keeping Worthy off the carbs. But why would I? I want him to eat normal, feel like any other 2 year old who can eat anything!! Plus...can anybody name 10 things with 0 carbs? I know I can't!!
Anyways, along with Worthy's diabetes supplies, with baby coming soon, I am soo sooo SOOOO grateful for epidural!! AND painkillers! Ok so of course I know if I absolutely HAD to, I could give birth without any of those things and still be fine...I know that because how do you think they did it way back when? I know it'll be *SO PAINFUL* but it's possible.

I am grateful to live in this time. The latter days. The technology of science (is that even something?) has already helped our young family in soo many ways! I feel blessed!! So blessed. :)
