Short & Sweet trip to the 801

We had been looking forward to this Utah trip since the beginning of the year because we were excited for a lil family vacation away and also so I could see my BFF, Cynthia. Cynthia has been my BFF since middle school. Most of my favorite high school memories were with her and she was one of my bridesmaids. She told us about her wedding last year and even planned for Worthy AND Waylon to be in her line. But knowing Worthy, he will NOT walk without Zeus or me by his side.

Anyway, early last week I was kind of stressing out about a rental car. We wanted to get a van but the rates were so high! Like $100 a day. Forget it! Since it was going to be just us, I found a midsize car for only $75 including taxes and fees for the four days we were going to use it. Then Ares and Theo asked if they could come along too. I didn't mind at all because I LOVE them! I couldn't ask for better brothers in law. :) We ended up canceling our reservation and asking Zeus's mom to use her SUV so the boys could come with us.

At first I wanted to get a hotel so we wouldn't have to bug anyone to stay at their place especially since we have a couple of rowdy boys and a baby who wakes up at the wee hours in the morning. But Zeus really wanted to stay at one of his family's house to save money. We ended up staying at a close family friend's house in Cedar Hills which was PERFECT because they have a little boy that's Worthy's age. Every night while we were away Worthy always asked for him. It was soo cute!

We left Vegas early Thursday morning around 4 am and got into Provo around 10:30. It only took us 5 1/2 hours which we thought was good timing. Because it was so early, the kids slept almost the whole way and made it a pretty easy trip. We stopped in Provo to visit Zeus's Uncle Charles and to let the kids run around at the park right across the street from his house. AND so we could stop at BYU to get a wrap I used to always order at the Cougar eat. (sooooo yumm!!) We stayed a couple hours before heading to Cedar Hills.

When we got to the house, Zeus and I were sooo tired. We let the kids play for a lil bit and then took them to our room so we could all take a nap. Took a little while to get them to sleep but they did and so did we. Might sound weird but I LOVE family naps! :) We slept for a few hours before waking up to get ready for dinner and rehearsal in Salt Lake.

I made dinner reservations for us at Tucanos, my favorite place to eat when we're in Utah. It was Ares first time and like always, it didn't disappoint. I LOVE that place!! I can't get enough of their Brazilian lemonade. We always leave soo stuffed and satisfied. :) Even Worthy and Waylon left with full tummies. After dinner we walked it off a little bit around Gateway mall and then finally headed to the chapel for rehearsal. We actually didn't get to rehearse because the decorating people were still decorating and we helped set up. Well, tried to help. It was hard since the boys were tired and they were being sooo naughty! Omg! So we left before everything was done. They fell asleep in the car so we went to Auntie Mai's to visit with the family for awhile.

Friday. We woke up and got ready for the sealing at the Bountiful temple. Only I went in while Zeus, Theo, and Ares watched the kids. It was so beautiful! I was getting a little teary eyed as I watched my BFF get sealed to the love of her life. :) We got out and took pictures and Waylon looked sooo handsome in his vest and bow tie!!

After the temple, we headed over to Auntie Mai's house so I could change and everybody else could get ready. The reception started at 5:30 but we got there a lil late and when we walked in, they were announcing the line already. I was sooooo mad and felt soooo bad that we were late!! Waylon didn't get to walk with his partner and we didn't get a table. I was on the verge of crying!! So what did I do? I made Zeus take one of the little square tables in the gym so we could sit and eat and be part of the celebration. I did NOT drive 6 hours just so I could sit in the lobby at my best friend's wedding!! We ended up not sitting at that table because they had cleared one of the buffet lines to make more seating for the guests...so we kind of had good seats. :) The night ended pretty well dancing on the dance floor with all my 816 people! lol But I still felt bad about being late. NEVER AGAIN!!

After the reception, we went to Glendale to visit with Auntie Vida. I miss them! They took care of me when I lived in Utah and will always hold her and her family close to my heart.

Saturday. We got to sleep in a little but had to be in Kearns at 2 for a 1 year old b'day party. It was soo cute! The theme was Candyland and they had candy and prizes for days. They had a candy buffet for the kids, a raffle, and played a bunch of fun games. The food was soooo good ESPECIALLY the mango drink they were serving to everybody. Zeus made me a couple cups of that drink and I drank it all and got full off it before I even got my plate. It.was.good! We stayed for awhile and then headed up to a park in Glendale to meet up with Auntie Vida and Uncle Shane and the rest of the family for a little eating. The boys played while we ate AGAIN and caught up. After a couple hours we headed back to the b'day party in Kearns for the swimming part of the party. Waylon knocked out on the way over and was still sleeping when we settled in at the park so only Worthy swam with daddy. Waylon woke up but didn't want to swim so we just sat and talked with family and friends we haven't seen in awhile. The party was so fun! I want to throw a party like that for Aliah's first birthday but it sucks because we don't have a lot of family or know a lot of people here in Vegas. Boo!

Sunday. We had to wake up extra early because the ward we were going to started at 9. Jerome blessed Laker and Zeus blessed Elgin. After sacrament, instead of heading straight to the house we went to visit Vita and Line and their kids. Zeus used to work with Vita at Cottonwood. We went over for dinner a few times when we lived there. The girls are getting so big! Their son is a month younger than Waylon but he kept punking Worthy and Waylon! Lol It was funny. When we got back to the house we ate some good food. Spent most the day there before going to Cedar Hills for a nap before heading out.

We were SUPPOSE to head out early in the morning but we were so exhausted from the whole weekend that we just slept til the next day. Finally left around 2 in the afternoon, which ended up to be the worst idea ever because the boys got restless and was awake most the ride. We stopped in Fillmore so they could get out and play at the playground at the Maverik there. The boys dozed off a couple times but it didn't last long. Right before we hit St. George Waylon fell asleep. We stopped there to visit with Miah for an hour or so before driving the rest of the way home. FINALLY got in around 10:30. Thanks to Theo and his laptop, he kept the boys quiet with the movies he brought. It felt like the longest drive EVER!!

Besides the drive back, we had so much fun. We were busy the whole weekend and it was great catching up with family and friends we haven't seen in awhile.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Atuaia! Happy birthday babygirl Piilani! And God bless Laker and Elgin!

Until next time Utah!! :)
