Last week I signed up for a FREE 7 day VIP pass for Gold's Gym. I wanted to go and try their Zumba class on Wednesday but ended up not going because Zeus got home right at 7 and that's what time the class started so I just told myself I'd go the next day.
Thursday I was talking to a friend of mine and she said she never uses her gym pass so I could use it if I wanted to. Uh....heck YES!! lol I don't know what got into me last week, but I just buckled down on eating right and my mind is so set on getting into shape and losing weight. Thursday I went to a Zumba class at her gym and it was so good!! Well... at first it was just a lil weird since it was my first time doing zumba...not to mention my first time at a gym, ever. And OMG. Why were there girls dressed all cute, with full on makeup and fake eyelashes?! Yes, seriously!! And why anyone would workout with their long hair down is beyond me. I mean, I could understand if their hair was short and wouldn't stay in a pony tail...but hair to the bottom of your back? And working out with it down? Hmm...WOW.
Anyway! I didn't want to over work myself on my first night working out in over 4 years (yes! so sad!) so I didn't go full out. I kept it at my "medium level" and lasted a lot longer than I thought I would. I was struggling a little at the end tho and could feel my extra weight. But when I came home I felt GREAT!! I never thought in a million years that I would say that after exercising. I was stress free and PATIENT with the babies. It was kind of like I discovered a new me. I was on a high!
Saturday I went again. I really wanted to run/walk the treadmill. I ended up doing 3.5 miles nonstop in an hour. Not bad for my first time! :) I was so proud of myself!! I pushed, but not over pushed. I kept reminding myself that I'm still a beginner and if I go all out my first time doing it, then I'll prolly dread it and not want to go back and do it again. When I got home my legs did hurt a little but I still felt great.
I LOVE THIS NEW ME! Ever since Thursday, I've noticed a change in me. From being more patient with the kids to being more productive during the day. I don't feel so stressed like I used to from having to stay at home with the kids ALL DAY EVERY DAY. I'm so grateful for my hubby letting me get an hour to myself a few days a week (and Isis for the pass!!). It really makes a difference and I am loving every second of it!!
My brother in law loves working out and when I told him I just finished at the gym and prolly need some ice lol he said, PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY. and thats what he tells himself when he works out to get him through. So thats my new motto at the gym. :)
HERE WE GO!!
