August.

(this is a long one) On August 3rd, I received an early morning phone call from Mom trying to get ahold of Dad and my three brothers who live at home and for some weird reason never answer their phones. Hello, I live in Vegas and the only person Mom can get ahold of is ME. She's at work in a frenzy because Auntie Laina left in a rush (they work together)...something about cousin Tammy having a hard time breathing so my other cousins called 911. She wanted Dad to see if everything was ok.

About an hour later, Dad called me saying my cousin passed away...

Wait, what?! Who? How? What? When??...WHY?!!

I just saw her last month!! She was her usual self. No sickness. No sign of ANYTHING wrong with her. Just happy go lucky Tammy. I couldn't believe it.

I never really dealt with death before. Death of some really close family members until this year. I mean, my grandparents passed away but I didn't really KNOW them. Not like the losses I experienced this year. First Auntie Kathy from cancer, who was the fittest most healthiest person I know...worked out everyday, ate right. And now cousin Tammy...from nobody knows what. I later found out that cousin Tiana found her in her room, lifeless. She just never woke up and passed away in her sleep.

As of right now, it still hasn't hit me yet because I'm the only one in my whole extended family who lives away from Missouri. I am just so used to being away from everyone that I have yet to experience the emptiness everyone else is feeling. But I do know that when Breaking Dawn pt. 2 comes out in November, it's going to be soo weird not seeing Tammy in pictures with everyone else at the midnight showing. She was the biggest Team Edward fan I knew.

I'm gonna miss my cousin Tammy. Even though she used to call me Ashley Lassie when we were little. lol. She said she doesn't remember ever calling me that. Every time I watch Little Mermaid, I will think of her because that was her favorite Disney movie. And when I see Jason Momoa, I'll think of her because I remember she used to have all his picture everywhere. lol. LOVE YOU SO MUCH TAMMY!! I MISS YOU!! :(

When we found out about Tammy, we were struggling to get enough buddy passes together so I can go with the kids for her services on Friday, August 10th and Saturday, the 11th. Waylon's bday was August 9th so he had to use a pass...but even if he wasn't 2 yet, I'd still have had to get a pass for him because I can't have two lap kids. ANYWAY, we were able to get 3 passes and I was able to stay for a week and a half instead of a turnaround trip (I HATE turnaround trips!). We actually flew out the night of Waylon's birthday. That morning, I made trifle so we could take it over to Mom thems house and sing happy birthday before going to the airport.

I chose a night flight thinking that if I kept the boys awake and not let them take their nap that they'd sleep the whole time. WRONG. For some reason, Waylon was awake the whole time!! Omg. He wasn't bad or anything. I just thought I would get some sleep on the flight.

We get in and the next evening was the funeral services. It was good but sad. Tammy's baby was Taimane, cousin Alo's son. She would babysit and watch him all the time. The saddest part for me was when Taimane sang DYING DAY. I couldn't hold my tears back and it just rained!! I wish I had it on video but the cousins are still trying to figure out how to post it. I do have a video of Alo singing the most beautiful song!!

Saturday was the burial. After the ceremony at the gravesite, we had a nice little family gathering potluck at the chapel. The boys fit right in. They had no problem playing with the other little cousins...well, Waylon didn't have a problem. Worthy was still attached to my hip. Or Nephi's. lol.

Saturday afternoon we had a little 911 emergency ourselves. After the family thing, we came home and went down for a nap. Worthy woke up screaming, saying, "I FELL DOWN!! I FELL DOWN!!" and he started jerking, like he was about to go into a seizure. I automatically thought his blood sugar was low so I grabbed some M&Ms and gave him some. He put one in his mouth and started to jerk again. He was sooo terrified, that he spit it out. I ran him to Mom's room and had her hold him so I can check his blood sugar. She kept asking what happened to his mouth...because it looked like he was bleeding...the M&M I gave him was red. He was holding on to her soo tight! I had to take a deep breath and calm down so I could think straight and check his finger.

He wasn't having a seizure like the ones I see on TV all the time, but he was jerking a little so I really believe he was having a very minor seizure. His blood sugar was 55. It has been lower than that before so I know it was partly the dream that caused his body to react that way. When he stopped jerking a little bit, I gave him more M&Ms and had Mom call 911. I did NOT want to be alone and not know what to do if he did go into a full blown seizure. Luckily we live 3 minutes away from the nearest fire station so they were there so fast. By the time the ambulance got to the house, Worthy had stopped jerking and his vitals were normal when they checked him.

My poor baby!! I was ok all the way up until I had to explain to the paramedics what happened. I started crying and tried to keep my voice steady for them to understand what I was saying. Sadly, I know there will be more situations similar to this one in the future because of his diabetes...just until we know how to really get it under control. We've been doing really well with keeping his sugar levels where we want them but we still have a lot to learn. Now, after this incident, I always check his blood sugar when he goes down for his nap so I know it's not too low. ANYWAYS!! I'll save Worthy's diabetes for another post.

All week we were preparing for a much needed garage sale. My family has been living in that house for 10 years now and we have never really cleaned out our closets. Can you imagine?? 10 years worth of clothes and other junk?? HOLY COW!! Well, I didn't really have a lot because I took most of my clothes to Utah when I moved for college. But my brothers had sooo much! We did pretty good at our sale. I used some money to redo Mom and Dad's room...because they soo deserved it and now they have a comfy bed and nice bedding to sleep on!

The whole time I was there I only ran TWO times. I felt horrible, literally. I didn't feel as energized as I usually do. But on the bright side, when I was going through clothes for the garage sale, I found some jeans I haven't worn since my senior year...AND I FIT THEM! YES I DO! :) I was soo happy!! All this running and working out is really paying off. ;)

We came home on Tuesday the 21st, a flight I never take...during the middle of the day. But it was PERFECT because it was their nap time and this time, ALL three babies slept the whole time. It was GREAT!!

Zeus's 28th was the next day, the 22nd, which was also Aliah's 8 month bday. We just went out to Cici's because I didn't have time to plan anything, but we did have some good old quality family time since we were away from daddy for almost two weeks.

Zeus started coaching football again this month. So for the next couple months we're looking forward to watching us some high school football games. Other than that, we don't have anything big coming up. Oh yeah, except for the big 1 year bday party Zeus wants to throw Aliah. LOL.
